John H. Kopp, 62, of Menominee, Mi., passed away Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2017 with family by his side after a courageous 10 year battle with cancer.
Born March 24, 1955, in Iron Mountain, Mi., he graduated in 1973 from Iron Mountain High School and married Cathy Fortier on Aug. 16, 1980. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and being outdoors.
He is survived by his wife, Cathy; three daughters, Jessica (Doug) Kopp Lippold, Angela (Nathan Linsmeier) Kopp and Johnna (Kyle) Durow; four grandchildren; a brother, Mike (Lauri) Kopp of Kingsford, Mi.; two sisters, Laura Paquin of Iron Mountain and Mary Jo (Chet) Shields of Menasha; a sister-in-law, Julie Fortier of Kingsford, Mi.; many cousins; nieces; nephews; great-nieces and nephews; great-great nieces and nephews; aunts; uncles and special friend, Bruce Cummings.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard "Buster" and Lois Kopp; a brother, Joe Kopp; a brother-in-law, Brian Fortier; in-laws, Cy and Martha Fortier and maternal and paternal grandparents.
