THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
Judy Brabec, 65, of Menominee, Mi., passed away Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2017 at the Luther Home in Marinette after a long battle with breast cancer.
Born Aug. 20, 1951 in Chicago, Ill., to Mary Ann (Hroza) and the late Charles Brabec, she was the oldest of eight children.
Her greatest joy was bringing joy to others, especially through her good cooking. But her loving, giving ways extended to many people that she never met, through her generosity with the local food pantries, the Rainbow House domestic abuse shelter and taking names from the giving tree each year at Christmas time.
She is survived by her mother, Mary Ann; siblings, Karen (Jim) Kayser of Daggett, Jim (Teri) Brabec of Orland Hills, Ill. and Lynn (Scott) Jackson, Chuck Brabec , Pam Menor, Mary (John) Vainer and Bob (Tonya Philipps) Brabec, all of Stephenson, Mi.; a brother-in-law Bob Menor of Wausaukee; 16 nieces and nephews; 22 great-nieces and nephews; a great-great nephew and friends, Karolie Dufek and Kandi Lkitzke.
Visitation was held at Anderson Diehm Funeral Home in Stephenson on Friday, Aug. 11 from 4 p.m. until time of Parish Prayers at 7 p.m. with Fr. Ron Timock officiating. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Precious Blood Catholic Church on Saturday, Aug. 12 at 10 a.m., with Fr. Timock officiating.
