James E. McVane
James Edward McVane, 80, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2017 at home surrounded by family.
Born Sept. 5, 1936, to Edward and Martha (Hart) McVane, he married Jean Helen Mathias on Dec. 30, 1955 and she preceded him in death on Dec. 13, 1978. He then married Carole Peterson on June 9, 1973 and she preceded him in death on July 26, 2012.
Earlier in life, he hauled milk and then he worked at Thompson Boat until starting at UPS in January 1965 where he was a driver until retiring in February of 1998. He was also a steward for the local union and after retirement, drove coach bus for LouAnn Coach.
He is survived by three children, James (Jana) McVane, Barb (Larry) Jarosinski and Barry (Deb) McVane; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; three step-children; a sister, Judith Wilke and a brother, Bernard McVane.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Jean; his second wife, Carole; two sisters, Minnie Stanukinos and Dolly Martin; a half-brother, Joe McVane and a half-sister, Mary Bauer.
Family and friends visited at Ryan Funeral Home and Crematory in De Pere on Sunday, Aug. 20 from 2 p.m. until time of a funeral service at 4 p.m.
