James J. Harter
James Joseph Harter, 85, of Menominee, Mi., passed away Monday, Sept. 4, 2017 at Aurora BayCare Hospital in Green Bay.
Born Feb. 19, 1932 in Menominee, to the late Alfred and Lucy (Baiel) Harter, he graduated from the former Our Lady of Lourdes High School in 1950.
A member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, he was an accountant and worked for Unit Structures in Peshtigo, Lloyd Manufacturing and Goldstone Sheet Metal.
He is survived by two sisters, Joanne Harter of Menominee and Margaret (Tom) Harding of Marinette; nieces and nephews, Bridget (David) Engen, Katie (Jason) Smogoleski, Chris (Betsy) Harding and Kevin Harding and other family members and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister, Mary.
Visitation will take place at Cadieu Thielen Funeral Home in Menominee on Thursday, Sept. 7 from 4 p.m. until time of a Vigil Prayer Service at 5:30 p.m. with Fr. Mark McQuesten presiding. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, Sept. 8 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church at 11 a.m. with Fr. McQuesten officiating. A luncheon will follow the mass and burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Menominee.
