Arnold E. Witzke
Arnold E. Witzke, 87, of Wausaukee passed away Thursday, Sept. 14 at home.
Born Oct. 27, 1929 in Athelstane, to the late Ernest and Lena (Popp) Witzke, he graduated from Wausaukee High School in 1947. He joined the United States Navy in 1949 and served for 21-1/2 years. On April 18, 1952, he Married Dona Krumrei in Wausaukee. After retiring from the Navy, he worked many years in the logging industry.
They enjoyed many years of wintering in Texas, hunting, fishing and camping. He was a member of the Community Lutheran Church in McAllister.
He is survived by his wife Dona; three daughters, Alice (Jerry) Paider of Luxemburg, Jane (Michael) Skirven of Burlington and Susan (Mark) Peterson of Wausaukee; a brother, Paul (Jeanette) Witzke of Wausaukee; two sisters, Eleanor (Dick) Andreasen of Stuart, Fla. and Adeline Waskow of Two Rivers; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Lorna, Arlene and Marie.
Visitation was held at The Community Lutheran Church in McAllister on Tuesday, Sept. 19 from 9:30 a.m. until time of a funeral service at 11 a.m. Pastor Paul Hueter officiated with burial in the Church cemetery. Thielen Funeral Home of Marinette assisted the family with arrangements.
