Peshtigo defeated Gibraltar/Sevastopol on the soccer pitch Thursday, Sept. 28 by the score of 3-1.
Trent Carriveau dished to Ty Davis for the only goal of the first half to give Peshtigo a 1-0 lead at the break, though Davis would have to retreat to the net to take over for second-string goalkeeper Breyden Demmith, who was injured during the game.
"Both of them did a great job in the net," Peshtigo Coach Joe Denny said.
Damon Jones scored twice in the second half for Peshtigo's other two goals following a 45-minute delay due to lightning in the area. Carriveau added another assist on one of Jones' goals and Ryan VanVooren had the other.
"The team began the game very well," Denny said. "The passing was excellent and we were able to move the ball around the field under control."
Denny also praised his defense, including Cam Barrette, Nolan Lemke, Logan Frank, Cade Tackmeier and Omer Fargahali.
"It was a great team effort and an excellent win for this team," Denny said.
