Marion L. Boland
Marion L. Boland, 95, of Marinette, passed away Wednesday evening, Sept. 27, 2017 at Bay Area Medical Center in Marinette surrounded by family.
Born Oct. 4, 1921 in Marinette, to the late Fred and Mary (Blumm) Walk, she lived in the area all of her life and attended Marinette High School. On May 25, 1940, she married James W. Boland.
She worked at J. C. Penney Company for several years and then worked for the School District of Marinette in the food service program at the High School. She enjoyed traveling and camping with her family. She was a lifelong member of Peace United Church of Christ in Marinette.
Among survivors are three daughters, Patricia (Michael) Murphy, Kathy (Dick) Jansen and Cindy (Chris) Spies; three sons, Wesley (Mary) Boland, Rick (special friend, Nancy Norman) Boland and John Boland; 16 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James; five brothers, Harold, Art, Edward, Ervin and James Walk and two sisters, Gertrude Mayer and Elsie Peters.
Friends called at Peace United Church of Christ in Marinette on Saturday, Sept. 30 from 11 a.m. until time of funeral services at 2 p.m. Rev. Linda Forray officiated with burial in Forest Home Cemetery in Marinette. Pallbearers were her grandsons, Dale Boland, Brian Jansen, Eric Spies, Brian Spies, Troy McCabe and Chad McCabe. Memorial donations in her name are appreciated to Peace Church, the Emergency Rescue Squad or Save a Heart. Hansen Onion Martell Funeral Home of Marinette assisted the family with arrangements.
