THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
James (Jim) Martinson, 50, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2017 in Lubbock, Tx.
Born Nov. 16, 1966 in Sturgeon Bay, second child of Joseph and Elaine Rass Martinson, he grew up in Green Bay and married Kim Coppersmith.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, the outdoors, time with his uncle Milt and his first beagle from him, but mostly loved his daughters and grandchildren.
He is survived by two daughters, Ashlie (Jed) Popp of Amberg and Jordan Martinson (special friend, Jake Kush) of Omaha, Neb.; three grandchildren; his parents, Joseph and Eleaine Martinson; three sisters, Tina Huettl, Julie (Spencer) Spaude and Tricia (Matt) Vorpahl; nieces; nephews; aunts; uncles and friends.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Jaxon; his maternal grandparents, Grace and Wilfred Rass and paternal grandparents, Betty and Joe Martinson.
Family and friends visited at St. Joseph Church in Oneida on Tuesday, Oct. 3. from 4 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 6 p.m., with Fr. John Chrysostom Katamba officiating. Ryan Funeral Home of De Pere assisted the family with arrangements.
