Robert H Wontor, Watersmeet Mi., formerly of Amberg WI, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 26th 2017 at his home, with his wife Diane at his side.
Bob was an avid sportsman, loving hunting and fishing. Shooting many bucks (including a Boone and Crocket Trophy) and catching countless fish throughout his life. Bob enjoyed farming, driving tractors, raising beef cattle and sheep.
He retired in 2008 from ISP Kremlin Mine as Chief Operator. He and his wife Diane moved to Watersmeet MI in 2009 where they built a log home together. He loved four-wheeling across the UP with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Diane; daughter, Emily (Johnny Dickerson); grandchildren, Kamryn, Andrew, Darrin, Lennon and Gwenyth; step-son, William (Gretchen) Fredy; grandchildren, Travis, Derek and Charlee; step-daughter, Dawn Marie Fredy and granddaughter, Olivia; step-daughter, Katrina (Jason Heiser) and granddaughters, Lyla and Charlotte.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Velda Wontor.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, Oct. 9 at the Gaffney Bousha Funeral Home, 304 E Division St. in Eagle River, WI Visitation 2:00-3:00pm. Service at 3:00pm. In lieu of flowers, it was Bob's wish to make a donation to your favorite charity or plant a tree in his name. He will be greatly missed and always loved.
