THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
Rescue Squad Holds Hand CPR Training
Issue Date: November 8, 2017
Crivitz-The Crivitz Rescue Squad (CRS) will host a free "Hands-Only CPR" and AED Training on Saturday, Nov. 11 at their station. The training takes less than 30 minutes and can be done in between the hours of 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. The squad will offer cookies, coffee and hot chocolate.
"Hands Only CPR" is a quick, easy and effective way of helping any victim of cardiac arrest. The American Heart Association does offer a full, more in depth CPR class. However, it is recognized that not everyone has the time to attend the longer class. The quick version teaches when to start CPR and how to maintain a person's chance of survival by performing high quality compressions. Additional infant training is available upon request.
Also, the training will go over public access AEDs (Automated External Defibrillator). Many AEDs are situated in the area, including churches, grocery stores, town halls, etc. As a trained bystander, your quick thinking and actions can may a big difference.
All ages are encouraged to attend. Adults and children, alike, can easily be trained in this skill. You have the power to save a life. If you would like to learn more, please plan on stopping by the C.R.S. Station at 1020 Henriette Avenue. If questions call 715-854-7666.
