Dorothy J. (Hartwig) Rich, 93, of Peshtigo, passed away Thursday, Nov. 2, 2017.
Born Sept. 6, 1924, to the late Henry and Bertha (Polzin) Hartwig, she married Gilbert "Buddy" Rich in 1942 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Grover and he preceded her in death in 1986.
A member of Zion Lutheran Ladies Aid, she enjoyed playing cards, crocheting, gardening, was a good cook and made sure her family was fed and provided for. In younger years, she was involved in the 4-H Club, played guitar and she and her sisters sang together for the local radio station.
She is survived by four sons, James (Linda) of Peshtigo, Tom (Sharon) of Pound and Kevin (Cindy) and Bryan, Sr. (Janet), both of Harmony;
two daughters, Judith (special friend, Lloyd Werch) Rich of Berlin and Pamela (Vern) Weed of Porterfield; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
Along with her parents and husband, Gilbert, she was preceded in death by seven sisters; two brothers and a great-granddaughter, Sarah.
Visitation was held Monday, Nov. 6, at Zion Lutheran Church in Peshtigo from 9 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. Pastor Luke Myslik officiated with burial in Glenwood Memorial Gardens in Marinette. Berth and Rosenthal Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
