Crivitz Budget Hearing Rescheduled To Nov. 30

Public hearing on 2018 general expenditure and TIF budgets for the Village of Crivitz that had been scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 21 has been cancelled and rescheduled for Thursday, Nov. 30 at 5:30 p.m. The regular monthly Village Board meeting remains scheduled for 7 p.m. on Nov. 21.
In preparation for the budget hearing, proposed budget numbers comparing the 2018 proposed allocations 2016 and 2017 figures are published in today's issue of the Peshtigo Times. Clerk/Treasurer Marilyn Padgett notes that detailed reports and copies of the proposed budget summaries are available in her office in the village hall.
"All taxpayers of the Village of Crivitz are welcome and encouraged to attend," Padgett said. At the public hearing members of the public have an opportunity to comment on the budget and how the village tax money is spent.
The proposed budget provides for general fund expenditures of $933,339 for 2018, down from the $947,264 budgeted for 2017, and $976,326 spent in 2016. It requires a local property tax levy of $469,340, which is up 2.16 percent from the $459,415 levied a year ago.
The proposed TIF levy is up 12.09 percent from last year's budgeted amount. However, total revenues are budgeted at $373,018, up 29.31 percent from the $288,461 budgeted last year.
Several village committees have scheduled meetings in the next week.
The Parks & Recreation Committee will meet on Wednesday, November 15, at 6 p.m. Agenda includes Lights at the Memorial Tank and Cemetery; Snowmobile Route; Bandstand Ad Hoc Committee report and project; Littleland Playground maintenance and replacement parts; Perpetual Care Fund, Grave Sale Revenue Distribution; Correspond-ence Relative to Parks & Recreation; and miscellaneous purchases of routine items and supplies under $500. Agenda for a Finance Committee meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday, November 15, includes Community Code Service Zoning Ordinance update proposal; operators license applications; correspondence relative to finance; and miscellaneous purchases of routine items and supplies under $500.
At 6:15 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, the Utilities Committee will consider Water Utility Simplified Rate Case Information; Air Lift Pump Air Piping Replacement; Lift Station #1 Pump Repair and Lift System; replacing a 2008 half ton truck for the Public Works department; Correspondence relative to utilities; and miscellaneous purchases of routine items and supplies under $500.
