Connie A. Gustafson Issue Date: November 29, 2017
Connie A. (Caylor) Gustafson, 65, of Menominee, Mi., passed away Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2017 at Aurora Bay Care Medical Center in Green Bay surrounded by family.
Born Feb. 5, 1952 in Marinette, to the late George and Dolores (Skorzewski) Caylor, she married Bob Gustafson at Precious Blood Catholic Church in Stephenson on Oct. 5, 1990 and he preceded her in death on Aug. 12, 2010.
A people's person, she worked at the grocery stores in Stephenson for many years and the customers became like family to her with many of them staying in contact with her after she was unable to work.
She had a tremendous faith in God, was a proud Catholic and through her life, her faith never wavered even in the worst times.
The couple had a lot of love to give and they were foster parents to many boys through the years, teaching them what unconditional love meant and they were like family to them, enjoying being a part of their lives.
Her family, children and grandchildren were her pride and joy and she cherished each moment she got to spend with them and they were the reason she fought so hard for 12 years to beat cancer. Quitting was not an option and she fought until she couldn't anymore. A member of Resurrection Catholic Church, her legacy of faith, love and strength will stay forever in the hearts of her family members.
Survivors include her children, Erin (Tim) Viau, Adam (Jennifer) Beaudo, Brad (Tori) Gustafson and Rob (Melissa) Gustafson; 11 grandchildren; a sister, Laurel (Alan) Majkrzak; a brother, George (Lori) Caylor; two sisters-in-law, Karen Caylor and Merri (Dale) Derouin; special "sista", Mary (Jim) Champion; a good friend, Linda Kolaszewski and nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, Bob, she was preceded in death by a son, Tyler and brother, Gary Caylor.
Visitation took place at Anderson Kell Funeral Home in Menominee on Sunday, Nov. 26 from 3 p.m. until time of a Vigil Prayer Service at 6 p.m., presided by Fr. Mark McQuesten.
