Ross F. Kies, 82, of Marinette passed away Monday, Nov. 27, 2017 at home surrounded by family.
Born Aug. 24, 1935 in Ventura, Ca., to the late Fred and Angela (Heinz) Kies, he served in the United States Navy. On Oct. 10, 1957, he married the former Barbara Laven in Franklin and she preceded him in death on Jan. 9, 2016.
He worked for Wisconsin Telephone Co. and later worked security at Mitchell Field Airport for many years. He enjoyed fish and fish tanks, reading, watching movies, growing plants and was a good cook.
Survivors include three daughters, Debbie Jacobus of Moorpark, Ca. and Donna (Ben Hanna) Kies and Diane (Aaron) Tuinstra, both of Marinette; two sons, Al (Jackie) of Rapid River, Mi. and Michael (Patti) of Racine; 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Rene and a son-in-law, Tim Jacobus.
Family will receive friends at Anderson Kell Funeral Home in Menominee on Friday, Dec. 1, 2017 from 11 a.m. until time of Military Rites at 1 p.m., followed by a funeral service. Rev. Scott Ehle will officiate with burial in Mellen Township Cemetery.
