Karen Jean (Holmes) Deau, 78, of Amberg, passed away Thursday, Nov. 30, 2017 at Bellin Hospital, surrounded by family.
Born December 18, 1938 in Amberg, to the late Dwight and Mildred (Anderson) Holmes, she married Robert Deau on Feb. 15, 1958. She played basketball in High School, was a cheerleader and class valedictorian.
She enjoyed people, food, music and playing musical instruments, including the piano at church, guitar and accordion. Playing board games and card games kept her mind sharp. In earlier years, she loved cooking, but most importantly, time with family and friends.
She is survived by her husband Robert; four children, Robert Deau Jr., Linda (Chris) Schoon, Lori Jones and Bradley (Joyce) Deau; three grandchildren; a great-grandchild; two siblings, Leatha Sokolowski and Ronald (Margery) Holmes; many nieces; nephews; extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald.
Family and friends may call at Roubal Funeral Home on Friday, Dec. 8 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Visitation will continue at United Presbyterian Church in Amberg on Saturday, Dec. 9 from 10 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Pastor Don Landwehr will officiate with burial in Amberg Cemetery.
