At the Wagner Town Board monthly meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 13 present were Chairperson Lynn Hickey and Supervisors Mollie Arthur and Allen Sievert. Also present were Bruce Meyhoff , Jim Hickey, Bill Woodward, Todd Hermes, William Labunski, fire chief Thomas Arthur, Mike Caylor, Steve Renikow, Sr., and Linda Wilke.
Hickey presided and the Pledge of Allegiance was said. Someone from the public asked about the wage amount of the person hired (sub-contractor training of the treasurer) wages. The issue was explained, understood, with no further discussion.
Minutes were approved with discussion only on the treasurer's report ending Nov. 30.
Fire Department updates noted two calls, both Lift-Assist, 57.5 hours for combination of Maintenance/training. Town Hall needs to install "electric EXIT signs' at all of the exits, per last Fire Inspection of Wagner Town Hall.
Also tender #2 is still down, awaiting parts, DOT Inspections done, and building Inspections almost completed.
Public Works updates include put up and repair more signs, brushed out more roads, had an emergency situation on S. Packard Rd. where Wagner Public Works along with Road King put in a culvert and did some ditching along the road, which helped in the under mining of the road. The water is more equalized and road is not giving way as before, had Town & Country Tree Service take down hazard trees and trim some major problem.
Among action items were approve Marge for treasurer at $ 962.50 (start-up), $240.50 per year, okay election officials, paying Wausaukee Rescue Squad quarterly, and discuss budget adjustments/transfers.
Also approved appointing Hickey as Deputy Clerk, until clerk is found and trained and appoint Linda Wilke as Wagner Town Clerk for remainder of term.
Okay to submit an offer to Kurkowski Trust for the amount of $78,800 for the property at W2490 Country Lane. Wausaukee, 27 acres, with the stipulations: approval of loan and septic situation amended/approval for municipal purchase.
There will be the fee charged for persons using Wagner Town Hall, effective Dec. 14. Rate is $30 forresidents, $50 for non-residents, and $20 refunded upon inspection of cleaning.
Vouchers were approved and Deputy Clerk and Town Clerk sworn in.
Future agenda items are Fire Department by-law changes/updates and officer pay adjustments, building update, town calendar.
