Born April 1, 1930, to the late Theodore and Bertha (Hein) Lange, he married the former Janet Hartwig on May 3, 1952 and they were together for 65 years. He was a logger, farmer and beekeeper.
A life-long member of St. John's Lutheran Church, he held many positions, including Church Counsel, head usher and janitor and member of the Men's Club.
He served on the Grover-Porterfield Fire Department for 35 years, was an active sportsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing with his buddies.
He is survived by his wife Janet; two sons, Mark ( Sandra) and Kevyn both of Grover; two daughters, Janice Holder and Karyn (Scott) Berg, both of Peshtigo; a daughter-in law, Jeanne Lange of Harmony; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and three sisters-in-law, Dorothy Hartwig, Mary Lou Knaak and Sandra Heil.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Lyle; a son, Rand; his in-laws, Wallace and Jeanette Hartwig and two brothers-in-law, Donald and Wallace Jr. Hartwig.
Visitation was held Wednesday, Dec. 20 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Grover from 11 a.m. until time of services at 1 p.m. Pastor Luke Myslik officiated with burial in the Church Cemetery. Berth and Rosenthal Funeral Home of Peshtigo assisted the family with arrangements.
