Guy R. Karry, 83, of Daggett, Mi., passed away Monday, Dec.25, 2017 at Iron County Medical Care Facility in Crystal Falls.
Born May 22, 1934 in Watton, Mi., to the late Carl and Ellen (Hartwick) Karry, he served in the United States Army and married the former Barbara Grundstrom on June 27, 1955 in Waukegan, Ill.
He worked as a mechanic and owned a transmission shop with his brother in Waukegan and later worked at Gustmans for Swede Anderson and retired from Payne and Dolan after 25 years.
He enjoyed woodworking, feeding the birds, being outdoors, mechanical work and rebuilding engines. He was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church where he served on the Church Council.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara of Daggett; four children, Steve (Kathy) of Marinette, Cindy (Rick) Kell of Escanaba, Gerald of Daggett and Kristen (Jim) Johnson of Hoffman Estates, Ill.; six grandchildren; two brothers, Richard (Mary) of Catoosa, Ok. and Ronald (Millie) of Wadsworth, Ill.; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Ralph, Russell and Robert and a sister, Betty Hetzel.
Family will receive friends at Holy Cross Lutheran Church on Saturday, Dec. 30, 2017 from 9 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 11 a.m., with Pastor Paul Micheel officiating. Burial will be in Stephenson Township Cemetery in the Spring. Anderson Diehm Funeral Home of Stephenson is assisting the family with arrangements.
