M&M Thunder Extend Win Streak to 14 Games

With four wins over the weekend, the M&M Thunder advanced their record to 16-3 and currently have a 14-game winning streak going.
On Saturday, Jan. 6, they played two games against Sault St. Marie, winning 5-1 and 7-5, before traveling to face Marquette-Negaunee's U16 squad, winning 6-1 and 6-3.
In the first game against Sault St. Marie at home, the Thunder took a 5-1 win behind two goals from Adam Wahl, who also spent 14 minutes in the penalty box. Jeremiah Phillips had a goal and two assists and Cole Jersey had two assists Wes Knutson, Brandon Bruning and Jason Bruning were each scorers for the Thunder as well, while goaltender Braeden Park saved 33 of 34 shots.
The next game was a tighter affair, with some significant penalty minutes mixed in. The Thunder won 7-5, with Brandon Bruning seeing 11 minutes inside the penalty box and Jason Bruning spending 16 minutes in the box.
Aidan Bohaczek had three goals, Knutson had two and both Phillips and Wahl had a shot find the back of the net. Kuntson added an assist, while Jersey had two. Park saved 27 of 32 shots he faced.
Against Marquette-Negaunee, the Thunder scored six in each game. In the first game, which began at 8:30 local time in Marquette, the Thunder got a 6-1 in. Wahl had a hat trick with two assists, Phillips had two goals and two assists and Jersey had two more assists with an assist to boot. Cade Fenstrum and Jason Walk each had assists in the first game.
