THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
Rainbow House Receives Donation
Due to the generosity of many KS Kolbenschmidt US (KSKUS) employees for this year's Christmas Charity Drive, $2,500 was collected for the Rainbow House. The Rainbow House provided this year's Christmas Committee with the wish lists of 12 individuals. From the list provided, KSKUS created a Rainbow Tree which was placed in the machining main lunch room. Ornaments were placed on the tree which noted an item from either the wish list of a Rainbow House resident or that of the facility. In addition to the gifts that were purchased, Midge Wilke, custom machining operator, made sure that all the children had a Christmas stocking filled with surprises. Some of the wish list items included bedding, kitchen items, towels, clothes, vacuum cleaner, shoes/boots, video games/movies, toys and baby items. Two additional checks were also delivered to the Rainbow House right before Christmas, one from KSKUS and the other from KSLP, each in the amount of $1,500. Including these two checks, the total Christmas donation to the Rainbow House from KS Kolbenschmidt was $5,500.
