Carolyn Lee (Kitchen) Geniesse, 75, of Kaukauna, formerly of Menominee, Mi., passed away Friday, Jan. 12, 2018 at St. Paul Elder Services in Kaukauna.
Born Feb. 21, 1942 in Chester, Pa., to Robert and Rose Kitchen, she moved with her family, living in Norwood, Pa., Glens Falls, N.Y., Menominee, Memphis, Tn. and Marinette. She graduated from Menominee High School in 1960 and married Rowland J. Geniesse on Nov. 25, 1961 at St. William's Church in Menominee.
They enjoyed camping all their life and in retirement enjoyed Aqualand Campground and Fish Boils in Door County, but mostly loved their family. She was a member of Holy Family Parish for many years.
She is survived by three sons, Paul (Jessica) Geniesse of Suring, Joseph (Christine) Geniesse of Black Creek and Robert (Inga) of Germany; and the mother of his children, Patrica; a daughter, Laurie (Bobby) Bruce of Edinboro, Pa.; 21 grandchildren; two brothers, William (Judy) Kitchen and Robert (Pam) Kitchen.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Rowland J. Geniesse and a sister, Patricia Maslovich.
Friends called at Hansen Onion Martell Funeral Home in Marinette on Sunday, Jan. 14 from 4 p.m. until time of a Vigil Service at 7 p.m. Visitation continued at Holy Family Parish, Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Marinette on Monday, Jan. 15 from 10 a.m. until time of a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Rev. Bill Swichtenberg officiated with burial in Riverside Cemetery in Menominee. Donations can be made to St. Paul Elder Services of Kaukauna in memory of her and her husband.
