John A. Francour Jr., 79, of Menominee, Mi., passed away Friday, Jan. 12, 2018 at Aurora Bay Care Medical Center in Green Bay with his daughter by his side.
Born May 21, 1938 in Menominee, to the late John and Viola Francour, he graduated from Menominee High School in 1957. He served in the United States Army National Guard and worked as a printing press operator for the Marinette Eagle Star.
He enjoyed fishing, riding bike, going out to eat and going to the waterfront to enjoy the water, boats and wildlife, but his greatest joy was visits with his grandsons. He was a member of the Menominee American Legion.
Survivors include a daughter, Jamie (Don) Vogel of Green Bay; two grandsons; two brothers, Rodney (Ellie) Francour of Brunswick, Me. and Bryon Francour of Pulaski; best friend, Don Eack of Menominee and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Laurie and ex-wife and good friend, Judy Francour.
Family will receive friends at Anderson Kell Funeral Home in Menominee on Thursday Jan. 18 from 4 p.m. until time of Military Rites at 6:30 p.m., followed by a funeral service. Deacon Steve Gretzinger and his best friend, Navy Chaplain Don Eack will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar River Cemetery in the Spring.
