Russell T. Bauer
Russell (Russ) Theodore Bauer, 68, of Marinette, passed away Monday, Jan. 15, 2018 after a battle with pancreatic cancer. He served in the United States Marines during the Vietnam war.
A longtime member of the Marinette County Board and Town of Peshtigo Board, he enjoyed serving his community, hunting, fishing, woodworking, time at his cabin in Silver Cliff and collecting coins, firearms and anything he could get a good deal on, but especially loved time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He worked at KSU for many years as a machinist and then worked in maintenance at James River Paper Mill in Green Bay for many years and retired from Great Lakes Pulp and Fiber in Marinette. After retirement he enjoyed his apple orchard and working on his farm.
He is survived by his wife, of 48 years, Margaret; a daughter Sheila (Daniel) Sleeter of Suring; two sons, Adam (Jill) Bauer of Milford, Ks. and Jason (Abby) Bauer of Michigan City, Ind.; six grandchildren; three great- grandchildren and a brother, Henry (Lynn) Bauer.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Loretta.
Family will receive relatives and friends at Berth and Rosenthal Funeral Home in Peshtigo on Saturday, Jan. 20 from 2 p.m. until time of services at 4:30 p.m., with Rev. Steve Fewell officiating. A memorial fund has been established in his memory.
