Richard Gene Kubichek Sr., 69, of Little Suamico, passed away Tuesday, Jan 23, 2018.
Born Oct. 3, 1948 in Manitowoc, to Frank and Anna (Kubacki) Kubichek, he graduated from Custer High School in Milwaukee in 1967. On Aug. 9, 1967, he married his high school sweetheart, Cathy Wichman in Milwaukee. In 1968, he joined the United States Army and served as a military policeman in Vietnam. After service, he resumed working at Caterpillar Corp. in Milwaukee until it closed in 1984. He then worked as a Sheriff's Deputy in Oconto County for several years, retiring in 2006.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking and watching the Packers.
He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Cathy; three children, Richard Jr. (fiancé, Kathy Nellis) Kubichek, Scott (Molly) Kubichek and Julie (Kelly) Stevenson; four grandchildren; four sisters, Mary, Kathy, Pat and Joanne; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two infant brothers.
Friends called at Rhodes Charapata Funeral Home in Oconto on Monday, Jan. 29 from 11 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. Deacon Walt Kaszynski officiated, followed by Veterans Honors.
