John E. Lemire, 75, of Mesa, Az., passed away Monday, Dec. 18, 2017.
Born July 24, 1942 in Menominee, Mi., to Clarence and Doris Lemire, he graduated from Menominee High School in 1960 and served three years in the United States Army. He married the former Gloria Fort on Feb. 19, 1966.
The family moved to Mesa in 1978 where he worked for the City of Mesa converting vehicles into police cars, then as a test driver at GM Proving Grounds.
He enjoyed watching NASCAR races, playing cards with family and time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Gloria; a son, Ken (Natalie) Lemire; daughters, Judy (Tim) Murray of Florence, Az. and Cheryl (Shane) Terry of Mesa; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and two brothers, Ron (Sandy) Lemire of Peshtigo and Dick (Dolly) Lemire of Menominee.
His parents preceded him in death.
