A gun; an inanimate object made mostly of steel with a variety of moving parts. It can be used for good or for evil. It can not act on its own, has no mind, no spirit and no soul.
Mankind, on an individual basis; a living, breathing entity made of bone, organs and flesh. It is capable of acting on its own for good or evil. It has a brain, a spirit and an eternal soul which will ultimately answer to its Creator for its actions. "It is appointed unto men once to die but after this the judgement". Hebrews 9:27
Morality; A god given condition that moves man in the direction that is beneficial to himself and other. "...you shall love your neighbor as yourself:. Romans 13:10. It can be nullified or ignored by an individual who disregards or does not know its Creator, Jesus Christ. Morality is not something that can be legislated. It can not be activated in others by best wishes or nobelist hopes.
We in the United States are in a self-induced dilemma. For years now, a large and growing segment of our society has been on a "crusade" to eliminate all semblance of Jesus Christ from our schools, government, daily lives and indeed from all consideration. We have replaced God's Word with violent video games, movies and the notion that breaking the rules and revenge are good. We allow evil to infiltrate the young minds of tomorrow. "Smart" phones have replaced human face to face interaction making many socially dead. Our leaders lie continually for political gain. Even in churches God's word is "watered down" to appease the lifestyle of modern-day "Christians". Is it any wonder many millennials have no concept of a life changing God who loves and yet demands payment for sin? So if in fact we have successfully disposed of Christ, He will not bless our country or solve our problems. Why should He? "The wicked will be turned to hell and all nations who forget God". Psalm 9:17
What does that mean? Man himself is left with the insurmountable task of solving the unsolvable. How good are we doing? Our country sinks lower and lower, injustice and immorality run rampant. The abnormal is portrayed as normal. The perverse is celebrated as good. The unborn are considered an inconvenience, non-human, further de-valuing life. Police are considered the enemy in many places. Christians are maligned as possible terrorists and true terrorists are just misunderstood. Socialism (communism lite) is rapidly being accepted as superior to capitalism. Our Constitution is deemed a "living document" subject to be changed by the so-called "enlightened". But in fact, when the Constitution, the foundation crumbles, the nation will go with it. Man is not the solver of problems, he creates them.
The only hope of stopping mass shootings and other depravities in the Lord Jesus Christ. This country has to be saved on soul at a time. Until we realize we are responsible to the Lord for our actions and sins, many will be responsible to NO ONE. "For my eyes are on their ways; they are not hidden from my face, nor are their iniquities concealed from my eyes." Jeremiah 16:17
So what should we do now? Our nation continues to dissolve as other great nations of the past. Our 250 plus years "grand experiment" balances on the edge of oblivion. Do we follow God's way with Christian principles upon which our country was founded? Or will this nation slowly fade away in the din or human voices expounding ideas, opinions and Godlessness.
There is still time for the soul that seeks the Lord. "Come unto me all who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest." Matthew 11:28 "For whoever will call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." Romans10:13
