Dorothy "Dottie" M. (Jatkowski) Linczeski, 93, passed away Friday, March 2, 2018.
Born Oct. 14, 1924 in Menominee,Mi., to the late Anthony and Agnes (Frank) Jatkowski, she graduated from Menominee High School in 1941. She married Gerald J. Linczeski on Aug. 17, 1946 and he preceded her in death on Dec. 13, 1998.
They spent many years enjoying their home on weekends in Townsend on the flowage. She worked in the Marinette School District as Head of the "Hot Lunch" program for 24 years, retiring at age 72.
Active in bowling, volleyball, square dancing, water walking and water exercising with friends at the River Cities Community Pool, she went to the pool six days a week until she was 89 years old. She had two dear friends, "Tootie" Teske and Marlyn Nystrom.
She is survived by five children, Cynthia (Roy) Emmes and Sandra (Irv) Hermanson, both of Menominee and Marya Nolter, Laura (James) Haines and Tony (Patty) Linczeski, all of Marinette; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and many nieces; nephews and dear friends.
Along with her parents and husband, Gerald, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary (Clarence) Wuellner, Helen (George) Sporrer and Agnes (Richard) Sonntag; a sister-in-law, Rita (Loren) Gibson and a nephew, Richard (CB) Sonntag.
Friends and family called at Hansen Onion Martell Funeral Home on Sunday, March 4 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., with a Vigil Prayer Service at 6:30 p.m., with Fr. Mark McQuesten presiding. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Holy Spirit Catholic Church on Monday, March 5 at 11 a.m. Fr. McQuesten presided with Burial in Forest Home Cemetery.
