Stephen Behling, 69, passed away unexpectedly Monday, March 19, 2018 at Aurora Hospital.
Born April 12, 1948 in Marinette, to Evelyn and Harold Behling, he lived there throughout his life and graduated from Peshtigo High School in 1966. He worked at Badger Paper Mill for 49 years in various jobs, including a heavy crane operator and retired in April of 2017 as a boilerman. He owned and maintained several rental properties and helped to renovate his and his children's homes.
He married Judy Rasmussen on Dec. 26, 1970 and they had three children. He enjoyed vacationing and traveling the world with his family, was a life-long learner with many interests and coached, supported and participated in his children's sports. He was an avid reader and loved carpentry, garden gnomes and slot machines, but above all, he was a family man, devoted husband, loving father and good grandfather.
He is survived by his wife Judy, children, Kristy (Eric), Brock (Danielle) and Tara (Tony); four grandchildren; a brother, Larry (Bonnie); a sister, Wanda (Steven), and many nieces; nephews; relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five siblings, Roger, Donald, Allen, Darlene and Yvonne.
Family and friends attended a Celebration of Life gathering at Riverside Golf Club in Menominee on Saturday, March 24 from 4 p.m. to 7 pm.
