Alice E. (Prestin) Polzin, 99, of Peshtigo, passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at Rennes Health Care Center-West.
Born Nov. 23, 1918, to the late Herman and Gertrude (Retlich) Prestin, she married Ervin C. Polzin on Sept. 14, 1940 at Grover Community Church and he preceded her in death on May 25, 1979.
She worked at the Elgin Watch Factory in younger years and during World War II, they both worked at the Naval Yard in Bremerton, Wa.
She enjoyed traveling, gardening and fishing, was active in her church choir, taught Sunday School and was a member of WSWS.
She is survived by a daughter, Lois (William) Carlson of Colorado Springs, Co.; a son, Garen (Carolyn) Polzin of Hartford; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Paul (Jan) Prestin; many nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Along with her parents and husband, Ervin; she was preceded in death by, a daughter, Carol; two sisters, Helen and Lucille Prestin; a brother, Gilbert Prestin and a step-mother, Doris Prestin.
Visitation will be held at Berth and Rosenthal Funeral Home in Peshtigo on Saturday, April 7 from 1 p.m. until time of services at 3 p.m. Burial will be in Glenwood Memorial Gardens in Marinette. Memorials can be made to Grover Community Church or the Gideon International Organization.
