Accident Scene-The driveway in front of UTC Aerospace, 701 Maple Street, Peshtigo, was the scene of a motorcycle-car accident Thursday, April 12. Marinette Man Dies In City Car-Motorcycle Accident

A 21 year-old Marinette man died as the result of a motorcycle-car accident in the city of Peshtigo. Peshtigo Police Chief Joseph FitzGerald reported that his department received the call on Thursday, April 12 at approximately 2:36 p.m. to 701 Maple Street in front of UTC Aerospace.
The Peshtigo Police Department along with deputies from the Marinette County Sheriff's Department responded. They discovered that a motor-cycle driven by Blake Gustafson of Marinette was traveling east out of the City of Peshtigo and collided with a vehicle traveling west driven by Thomas Johnson of Peshtigo. Gustafson was thrown from the motor-cycle and pronounced dead from his injuries by Marinette County Coroner George Smith. Johnson was not injured in the mishap. Several witnesses stated that Gustafson was traveling at a high rate of speed at the time of the accident.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation by the Peshtigo Police Department and the Marinette County Sheriff's Department. Chief FitzGerald in his press release stated that once the accident investigation is completed the report will be forwarded to the Marinette County District Attorney's office for review. Other agencies assisting at the scene were City of Peshtigo Fire Department, Emergency Rescue Squad, Bay Area Medical paramedics and Coroner Smith. This is the first traffic fatality in the City of Peshtigo for 2018.
