Donna Bannow, 82, of Marinette passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Aurora BayCare Health Center in Green Bay after a short illness, pneumonia and complications by a stroke.
Born on May 27, 1935 in Ruthven, Ia., she spent her early life in Chicago, Ill., where she graduated from high school. After graduation, she moved to California with her parents. Several years later, she met and married Robert Bannow, who was stationed there while in the Air Force. They married June 11, 1960 and then moved to his hometown of Marinette. She worked at Scott Paper Company for 35 years, retiring in 1995.
They enjoyed sailing, traveling and flying in his airplane. They spent many weekends sailing to Door County in summer months and stayed for extended periods in Florida after their retirement.
She enjoyed knitting, reading, and crossword puzzles.
She is survived by her husband, Robert; a sister-in-law, Jane Wagner of Grafton and a brother-in-law, Rollin (Lianne) of Portland, Or.
Per her request, no public Memorial Service will be held. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later time. Hansen Onion Martell Funeral Home of Marinette is assisting the family.
