Lois C. Gustafson, 90, of Brighton, Mi., passed away Monday, March 26, 2018, surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Born in Amberg, the oldest daughter, to Peter Marquis and Althea Laabs, she married the late Martin Gustafson on June 5, 1948.
She was a teacher in Wisconsin and a Social Worker for the State of Michigan. She enjoyed chocolate, summer flowers, feeding the birds and was an avid reader, but mostly loved time with her family.
She is survived by four daughters, Faith (Donald) Stevens, Barbara (Richard) Browne, Connie (Daniel) Dyson and Carmen (Robert) Schultz; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Patricia (Ron) Deua, Janice (Dick) Homes and Sharynm Dunn; three brothers, Peter (Pat) Marquis, Stephen Marquis and Jeffrey (Roberta) Marquis and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Martin, two sisters, Audrey Sawyer and Phyllis Dixon; a brother-in-law, Tom Dixon and a nephew, Eric Marquis.
A Memorial Service and Celebration of LIfe will be held later in Spring. Donations can be made to the American Heart Association, 208 S. LaSalle St., Suite 1500, Chicago, Ill. 60604-1242 or to a charity of one's choice. Lynch and Sons Funeral Home of Brighton, Mi. is assisting the family with arrangements.
