NE WI Kids Fishing Outing July 7 at Laona
Issue Date: May 31, 2018
Crivitz-The Boundary Waters Musky Club, along with the Headwaters and Title Town Chapters of Muskies Inc. are sponsoring the 6th annual NE Wisconsin Kids Fishing Outing for ages 10 to 17 on Saturday, July 7th. Registration is from 7 to 7:30 AM at the Silver Lake Pavilion on Silver Lake, Hwy 32, Laona, rain or shine. The event will run from 7:30 a.m. until noon; any lake in the area may be fished. Lunch will be served and prizes given for the largest fish in each category. All participating kids will receive a special gift. Kids will be matched up with guides, will be fishing from boats, and may fish for their choice of species and by any method.
According to Dan Lazzeroni, event chairman, "last year's event was another success. This is a great way to introduce kids to various types of fishing, and if they are interested, musky fishing." In the event of rain, prizes will be distributed to those kids attending.
The number of kids that can participate may be limited by the availability of guides with boats. About fifty kids and 25 guides are expected. Any angler that is willing to take two or three kids fishing is encouraged to contact the organizers. Prospective guides should contact Dan at 715-889-2938 or Nick Vento at 414-791-1189.
Parents must sign a waiver for their child to participate, unless the parent is guiding. The waiver can be e-mailed to those parents not attending.
