Letter to Editor:
On Monday, June 25 the Northwoods Recycling Coalition will hold a meeting at which time a vote will be held to terminate the coalition. As you may be aware, this is the group that provides the recycling site in the Village of Crivitz on August St. The last day for Village residents to use that facility will be Saturday, June 23. We strongly encourage residents to bring any recyclable items they have accumulated to the recycling center on or prior to that date.
For future recycling services, the Crivitz Village Board has contracted with GAD to provide bi-weekly curbside pickup. The Crivitz Village Board feels that by going to curbside recycling more village residents will take advantage of this opportunity to reduce the amount of waste that goes into the landfill and thereby reduce the costs for landfill tipping fees.
Curbside recycling pickup will begin on Saturday, July 7th and will continue every other week on Fridays, the same day as garbage pickup. Recycling containers will not be provided to residents. However, detailed information regarding accepted items and preparation will be provided on the Village webpage, Facebook page, by direct mail and future publications to guide you through this process. Under Wisconsin State Law all residents of the State of Wisconsin are required to recycle. We urge all residents to participate and reduce the amount of waste going into our landfills and greatly appreciate your cooperation.
