Donald Casper Schwartz, 82, of Porterfield, passed away Saturday, June 23, 2018.
Born March 17, 1936, to the late Carl and Cecelia Schwartz, he attended the Woods school in Porterfield and the farming short course at UW-Madison. He married Donna Mae (Behnke) on Nov. 30, 1957 and they moved to Sheboygan, where he worked in cabinetry until his father got sick and he returned home to run the family dairy farm for over 30 years until retiring in 1990.
He enjoyed camping with the grandchildren, but especially loved hunting, time with family and had a passion for woodworking, feeding the birds and playing cards.
He is survived by seven children, Debra Runke, Susan (Daniel) Van De Walle, Sally (Nicholas) Witt, Robert Schwartz, David (Janice) Schwartz, Michelle (Bill) Propson and Michael (Annmarie) Schwartz; 19 grandchildren; 16 great- grandchildren, with one on the way; a sister, Carol Kobus; a brother-in-law, Alex Dudka; two sisters-in-law, Bernice Fischer and Loraine Beaudion and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna; a brother, Loren Schwartz and two sisters, Dorothy Kobus and Marilyn Dudka.
The family greeted relatives and friends at St. Mary Church in Crivitz on Wednesday, June 27 from 9 a.m. until time of the Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Fr. Frederick SSerugga officiated followed by burial in St. Mary's Cemetery in Crivitz. Rhodes Charapata Funeral Home of Crivitz assisted the family with arrangements.
