Richard K. Rhodes, Jr., 63, of Wausaukee, passed away Friday, July 6, 2018 at the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center in Iron Mountain, Mi.
Born Jan. 14, 1955 in Norway, Mi., to the late Richard and Margaret (Hatton) Rhodes Sr., he grew up in Wausaukee and graduated from Wausaukee High School in 1973. He then received a technical degree as a diesel mechanic and worked for Smeester Brothers for seven years.
He served in the United States Army and after an honorable discharge he owned and operated Hwy 180 Trucking in Wausaukee for a few years. He then worked as a diesel mechanic in Southern Wisconsin for several businesses.
He enjoyed motorcycle riding, science projects and playing practical jokes on others.
Survivors include a brother, Daniel Rhodes, Amberg; four sisters, Linda (Frank) Hogan-Stream, Wausaukee, Suzan (William) Schlies, Wausaukee and Heather (David) Schramm and Annette (Dave) Grube, both of Amberg and many nieces and nephews.
A military graveside service will be held at Amberg Cemetery on Saturday, Aug. 4 at 11 a.m., with Rev. Agnes Brady officiating. The Mullany-McTrusty American Legion Post #428 of Amberg will accord military honors at graveside. Jacobs Funeral Home, Niagara Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
