Calvin H. Phillips, 92, of Marinette, passed away Monday, July 23, 2018 at Bay Area Medical Center.
Born May 16, 1926, to the late Gareld and Lena (Armstrong) Phillips, he married the former Isabel Fetterly on April 28, 1951 at Harmony United Methodist Church.
A World War II Army veteran, he was a member of the Harmony United Methodist Church, the Kniskern-Neuman Post 8813 VFW, was chairman of the ASC for 10 years and President of the Equity Livestock Association for 47 years.
He enjoyed bowling on the Good Time Bowling League for 30 years, working in the garden, pitching horseshoes and a was die-hard Cub and Packer fan.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Isabel; two sons, Steve (Rose) of Peshtigo and Franklin (Carla) of Marinette; two daughters, Linda (Lee) Hornick of Marinette and Rosemarie (Gary) Jensky of Texas; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty Wojciehowski of Porterfield; a sister-in-law, Marcella Nickoli of Green Bay; a brother-in-law, Roger (Frances) Fetterly of Sun Prairie; a Godchild, Lana Balliett; a special nephew, Larry and many nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ben; a sister, Sarah Strutz; a granddaughter, Brooke; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Margaret, Milton, Leonard and Carter and his in-laws.
Visitation will be held Friday, July 27 at Berth and Rosenthal Funeral Home from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Visitation will continue on Saturday, July 28 at Harmony United Methodist Church from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m., with Pastor Kevin Dembinski officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Peshtigo. A memorial fund has been established in his name.
