Donald E. Hudon, 75, of Menominee, Mi., passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at Rennes Health Care Center-East.
Born March 1, 1943 in Menominee, Mi., to the late Ervin and Ida (Vancaster) Hudon, he served in the United States Army. On May 27, 1972, he married the former Margaret Heathfield in Winnipeg Manitoba, Canada. He worked for the State of Michigan Liquor Commission for many years and also worked at Curry's IGA.
He served as the State Baseball Chairman for American Legion Baseball for eight years and was an active member of American Legion Post 146 serving in many capacities. He served on the Menominee City Council for eight years and was a member of Resurrection Catholic Church, the Golden K and the Kiwanis.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret of Menominee; a son, Scott Jeffrey (Melissa Evans) Hudon of Escondido, Ca.; a sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Wyrick of Albuquerque, N.M.; a sister-in-law, Audrey (Mervyn) Fitz of Winnipeg Manitoba, Canada and many nieces; nephews and friends.
Family received friends at Cadieu Funeral Home in Menominee on Sunday, July 22 from 2 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 5 p.m. Deacon Steve Gretzinger officiated with burial in Riverside Cemetery.
