Marvin Joseph Chaltry, 83, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2018 at the Harvest Home in Howards Grove.
Born March 8, 1935 in Menominee, MI., to Thomas and Florence (Greenwood) Chaltry, he graduated from Menominee High School in 1954 and served in the United States Marine Corps from 1954-1956. On Sept. 29, 1956 he married Alyce Comyne and she preceded him in death on April 15, 1998. He worked at Milwaukee Journal Sentinel as a Supervisor for over 30 years.
An avid Green Bay Packer and Milwaukee Brewers fan, he enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, yard work and his time at the Gathering Place.
He is survived by three daughters, Cindy (Robin) Nesst and Kristin (Doug) Blada, both of Howards Grove and Mary (Marlyn) Meinnert of Sheboygan; a daughter-in-law, Paula Chaltry of Oostburg; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren with another on the way; two sisters-in-law, Jean Chaltry and Kay Wilson; a special friend, Jean Pleshek; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Alyce Chaltry; a son, James Chaltry and two brothers, Robert Chaltry and Sylvan Chaltry.
Relatives and friends greeted the family at the Chapel of Eternal Light at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Sheboygan on Saturday, Aug. 25 from noon until time of the funeral service to celebrate her life at 2 p.m. at Chapel of Eternal Light at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Pastor Donna VanOrden officiated with entombment in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. A memorial fund was established in his name. Wenig Funeral Home of Sheboygan Falls is assisting the family with arrangements.
