Patricia Ann "Patti" (Boyak) Gamelin, 73, of Marinette, formerly of Munising, passed away Wednesday evening, Aug. 22, 2018 in Marinette surrounded by family.
Born July 24, 1945 in Munising, Mi., to Joseph and Mercedes (Brebner) Boyak, she grew up in Munising where she graduated from Sacred Heart Catholic School and then Munising High School in 1963.
She worked in Milwaukee for Jack Winters Slacks. She met Jim Gamelin there and they were married on Nov. 28, 1964.
She worked as a bookkeeper at First National Bank in Munising for many years and then as a homemaker. She enjoyed knitting, ceramics, crafts, made many wedding and birthday cakes, was involved with her sons sporting events and many other school activities, but especially loved spoiling her grandchildren.
In later years, they enjoyed traveling and discovering new places throughout the country in their motorhome. She always had a smile on her face and a welcoming heart.
She is survived by her husband of over 53 years, Jim, of Marinette; sons Louis (Andrea Horstmanshof) of Holt, Mi. and Brian (Laurie) of Porterfield; six grandchildren; two brothers, Richard (Marianne) Boyak of St. Clair Shores, Mi. and Tom (Stella) Boyak of Wetmore, Mi.; three sisters, Kathleen (Jerry) Hatke of Christmas, Mi., Susan (Ed) Yock of Green Valley, Az. and Joanie (Bill) Jankowski of Temecula, Ca.; in-laws, Bob (Barb) Gamelin of Munising, Mi., Mary Jo Washam of Mayflower, Ar. and Bonnie Mannisto and Patti Whitaker, both of Gray Court, SC. and many cousins; nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her mother and father-in-law, Louis and Agnes Gamelin; brothers-in-law, Red and Tommy Gamelin, Roger Washam and Bill Whitaker and a sister-in-law, Judy (Ernest) Monhead.
A private graveside service will be held for immediate family. A Memorial Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Sept. 17 in Munising. Donations can be made to ones favorite animal shelter in her name.
