Steve Hines, 66, of Oconto Falls, passed away Saturday evening, Aug. 25, 2018 at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay.
Born July 4, 1952 in Garden City, Mi., to Hilton and Carolyne (Willoughby) Hines, he grew up in Plymouth, Mi., where he graduated from high school. On May 11, 1974, he married Pamela Jahnke in Wausaukee, where they lived and he worked for the telephone company.
In 1999, they moved to Oconto Falls where he worked for a phone company, now known as Centurytel and retired after 28 years of service. He will be remembered for his generosity, helpfulness and hard work ethic.
Survivors include his wife, Pam Hines, Oconto Falls; two sons, Nicholas (Angela) Hines, Rhode Island and Christopher (Michele) Hines, Oconto Falls; four grandchildren; his father, Hilton Hines and two sisters, Linda Stone and Becky (Don) Hill, all of Washington; his mother-in-law, Beverley Jahnke, Wausaukee; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Dan Jahnke, Marquette, Mi., David Jahnke, Neenah, Donald (Jennifer) Jahnke, Minnesota and Doug (Christen) Jahnke, Rhode Island and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Carolyne Hines and father-in-law, Robert Jahnke.
Visitation will be held at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Oconto Falls on Friday, Aug. 31 from 3 p.m. until time of Memorial Services at 5 p.m. Jones Funeral Service in Oconto Falls is assisting the family with arrangements.
