THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
50 Unites Blood Needed for Sept. 10
Issue Date: September 6, 2018
Wausaukee-Wausaukee Blood Drive is Monday, Sept. 10 at the Wausaukee School Auditorium from 12:30 to 5:30 pm. The Wausaukee Lions and Leos along with Legion members will help. Persons may come all day and all Wausaukee blood drives qualify for scholarships for seniors. This year $2,500 in scholarships were given to graduating Wausaukee seniors.
Call Barb at 715-759-5747 or 715-927-5213 to make an appointment or just walk in. The goal of 50 pints must be reached to have good staffing.
Red bloods cells are also drawn. Call and make an appointment as this type of donating will stop about one hour before the end of the drive, about 4:30 pm. This will count as two units or pints.
Healthy donors may give every 56 days or 8 weeks in both Wausaukee and Crivitz all year round and also Silver Cliff.
Persons must be at least 17 years old and weigh at least 110 pounds. Students 16 years old may give blood with a form signed by their parents. Every unit of blood can be used for three or more patients. If taking any medication just get checked. Diabetics may also give if they are under control.
Before donating eat a good diet and get plenty of water. This will keep iron count up to donate.
Anyone who would like to help with the drive may call Barb at 715-759-5747 or 715-927- 5213 to let her know what time and how long one can help. Help is needed in loading, escorting donors, canteen, registration, setting up and taking down, and bringing bars and cookies.
