Myrtle M. Van Laarhoven, 98, Oconto Falls, died Tuesday evening, Sept. 4, 2018 at Atrium Post Acute Care in Oconto Falls with family present.
Born Oct. 17, 1919 in North Dakota to George and Mable (Runk) Keith, she lived in rural Lena most of her life and worked at Frigo Cheese. On Sept. 21, 1939, she married Adrian Van Laarhoven in Coleman.
A member of St. Anne Catholic Church in Lena, she will be remembered as a good cook who loved to prepare meals for her family.
Survivors include four children, Linda Urbaniak, Peshtigo, Dean (Judy) Van Laarhoven, Greenville, Ann (Terry) Hegeman, Suamico and Don (Grace) Van Laarhoven, Lena; two daughters-in-law, Donna Van Laarhoven, Billings, Mt. and Mary Martin, Marion; 18 grandchildren, and many great and great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Adrian in 1991; two sons, Dennis and David; a daughter, Mary Van Laarhoven; two brothers, Hank and George Keith; three sisters, Iletta Heckendorf, Dorothy Yarwood and Vi McDougal and a son-in-law, Allen Urbaniak.
Visitation will be held at Jones Funeral Service in Oconto Falls on Sunday, Sept. 9 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Visitation will continue at St. Anne Catholic Church in Lena on Monday, Sept. 10 from 9 a.m. until the time of a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Felix Abano officiating. Burial will follow in St. Charles Catholic Cemetery in Lena.
