STAA has Tough Time in Pembine
The St. Thomas Aquinas Cavalier volleyball team had some rough road to navigate last week when they participated in a triangular with Bark River and Pembine in Pembine.
During the first match Bark River took the win in five games 27-29, 29-27, 25-21, 25-21, 6-25 and 9-15.
During the first game Alexa Pristelski had seven kills while Kiana Bulin got eight. Livia Benson got 14 assists.
The second game saw Pembine win over STAA 25-17, 25-23 and 25-16. Bulin led in kills during the second match with nine.
Peshtigo Takes Fourth At Shawano Invite
The Peshtigo Bulldogs traveled to Shawano for a volleyball invite that saw the Bulldogs take fourth before leaving the gym of the Hawks.
Peshtigo first defeated Kewaunee 26-24, 23-25 and 15-13 before taking a loss to Oconto Falls 12-25 and 19-25.
The Bulldogs returned fire in game three with a 25-21 and 25-16 win over Rhinelander while following that match with a 20-25 and 15-25 loss to Shawano. Peshtigo dropped the final game against Wausau 28-26, 17-25 and 8-15.
The Bulldogs 2-3 Invite record was obtained by great efforts from many of the Bulldog girls. Grace Wickman got 26 kills during the invite along with 18 digs and 12 aces. Lianna Baxter added up 15 kills, one block, one assist and three aces while Brenna Schoenebeck posted 13 kills, one block and one dig.
Wausaukee Takes Two At Algoma Invite
The Wausaukee Ranger volleyball team went 2-1 at the Algoma volleyball invite. After a loss to Algoma 25-18 and 25-23 the Rangers recovered, winning against Sevastopol 25-22 and 25-17 while also defeating Two Rivers 25-21 and 25-18.
Kaelyn Schlies amassed 16 kills, seven digs, two blocks and two aces while Courtney Messar got 10 kills, eight digs, two blocks and one ace. Natalie Schroeder posted nine kills, one dig, one assist and seven blocks while Callie Orlando got 32 assists, 10 digs and three kills.
Lena Takes Loss To Stockbridge
The Lena Wildcats were handed a three set loss by the girls of Stockbridge Monday night 25-23, 25-14 and 25-13.
Lena was led by Alyana Peterson with two kills. Meckenna Portier posted three blocks, two dogs and one ace.
Wausaukee Battles Niagara for Win
The Wausaukee Ranger volleyball team had a quick three set night, but those three sets were all close as the Rangers took the win 25-22, 25-17 and 26-24.
"My team played one heck of a game tonight, " said Niagara head coach Carol St. Arnauld. "We may have lost but it was not without a fight. At one point in game three we were down 17-10 but we came back and made a game of it with the match ending 26-24. We had moments of greatness and my team played closer to their potential than they ever have. This team showed a lot of heart tonight. I'm looking forward to this team continuing to improve and build on their confidence. If they continue to believe in their capabilities, I see great things in their future."
Leading the Badgers was Jasmine Racine with seven kills, seven assists, 15 digs and one ace. Alyssa Cretton posted seven kills and nine digs while Julia Brown added 12 assists, three digs, one kill and one block.
Peshtigo Powers Past Kewaunee
The Peshtigo Bulldogs took a solid volleyball regular season win over the Kewaunee Storm 25-18, 26-24 and 27-25.
Leading the Bulldogs was Lianna Baxter with seven kills and two blocks. Grace Wickman got five kills, five digs and three aces while Mackenzie Morris added up three kills, 13 assists, two digs and one ace.
Wausaukee Takes Huge Triangular Win
The Wausaukee Rangers hosted the Crivitz Wolverines and the Lena Wildcats for a triangular that same day the Rangers bagged two wins, one over the Wildcats of Lena 25-11, 26-24 and 25-21 and another over the Wolverines 25-13, 21-25, 10-25, 26-24 and 16-14.
Crivitz defeated Lena 25-18, 25-15 and 25-14.
Leading the Rangers in their super effort was Kaelyn Schlies with 21 kills, 13 digs, one block and one ace. Kylee Smith got 21 kills, 17 digs and one ace while Courtney Messar posted 11 kills, 25 digs and two aces.
For the Wildcats Leah Dean posted two kills, one block, two digs and two aces while Meckenna Portier added up one kill, eight blocks and three aces.
Crivitz's Morgan Gyger got 15 kills, 13 digs, two assists, one block and two aces while Chloe Gruszynski posted 12 kills, 12 digs, two blocks and three aces. Emalee Johnsen added up nine kills, 10 digs, one asisst, four blocks and two aces.
Niagara Takes Two Wins In Suring
The Niagara Badger volleyball team took two wins at a Suring trianulagr Thursday night. Defeating Suring 25-20, 25-16, 10-25, 15-25 and 15-5. Before taking down STAA 25-8, 25-21 and 25-15.
Leading the way for the Badgers was Jasmine Racine who posted 15 kills, nine assists, 16 digs and three aces. Cassie Gille added eight kills, six blocks, one assist, five digs and three aces. Alyssa Cretton got six kills, one block, two digs and three aces.
Gillett, Oneida and Coleman All take one at Triangular
The Gillett Tigers hosted a triangular Thursday night with Oneida Nation and Coleman with all teams leaving the contest with a single win to their names.
Gillett beat Coleman in four sets 19-25, 25-21, 25-22 and 25-17. Coleman defeated Oneida Nation 26-24, 26-24, 25-27 and 25-21. While the final game of the night saw Oneida take down Gillett 23-25, 25-23, 25-11 and 25-20.
Leading the Tigers effort was Karissa Schaal with 16 kills, seven aces and 23 digs. Sophie Horsens posted 14 kills, 16 assists, five aces and 29 digs while Grace Wickman added on nine kills, one assist, one ace, four blocks and two digs.
