Wall That Heals Committee To Hold Thank You Reception
Issue Date: September 27, 2018
The Wall That Heals committee will hold a thank you reception at Gateway Bar and Grill in Crivitz on Saturday, Sept. 29 beginning at 6 PM. There will be snacks available and a cash bar. All those who volunteered, along with their spouses/significant others, during the event are invited to join the committee and in some small way be thanked for their efforts in making The Wall such a successful event. The committee also extends an invitation to all who gave both financially and in-kind donations to bringing The Wall to Crivitz to join us as well.
The Wall That Heals is a three-quarter scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. along with the Mobile Education Center travels the country bringing an opportunity for healing of the wounded hearts of the Vietnam era veterans. The Wall presents an opportunity to properly welcome them home, time to say good bye to fallen friends, and a time and place for all generations to learn of the Vietnam War. The Wall, as it is known, lists the over 58,000 men and women who gave their lives or are missing action from the Vietnam War.
The Wall was displayed in Crivitz over Labor Day weekend with over 25,000 visitors. It was an emotional time not only for those who have friends, relatives and comrades names listed on The Wall but also for those who volunteered and helped those who visited. Each and every volunteer has a memorable story of someone they met during the time The Wall was in Crivitz. Take the time to share those stories with others and enjoy the company of those who joined you in that experience.
The Wall That Heals committee asks that all volunteers and donors to join them at Gateway on Saturday.
