Seven Members at Crivitz Auxiliary

Crivitz-The recent Crivitz American Legion Auxiliary meeting was called to order by President Marian Wankowski. Chaplain Helen Franzen led in prayer and a few minutes of silence was observed for deceased members. The Pledge of Allegiance, Preamble of the Constitution and Mission Statement of the ALA were said by seven members present.
Treasurer Nora Swanson gave her report and books were audited and found to be in good order.
There are 84 registered members, only 21 seniors and five juniors are paid. Members are urbed to pay by phone with a credit card at 317-569-4500 or send money to Nora Swanson at N7488 Sikowski Ln. Crivitz. Special gifts will be given members who sign up new or rejoined members.
Material was passed out in regard to ALA in the Know, which will be in Green Bay on Oct. 13th. Registration is due Sept. 28th. with $25 check. Service to veterans info on suggested hours will be counted and leadership conference will be scheduled at Amberg.
All County Council meetings in the future will be at Amberg on the third Saturday of the months of April, May, August, September, October. and December at 10 AM. Crivitz will sponsor the Oct. 20th. meeting.
Plans are made to expand the I Spy program, which is awarding businesses for flying the American Flag to an I Spy, You Fly program, giving everybody who flies the flag recognition.
It was agreed to purchase a raffle calendar from the department unit at a cost of $10. A donation of $50 to the Louise Wilson Education Loan Fund, and a donation of $100 to the Christmas Gift Shop, so hospitalized veterans can purchase gifts for their family.
They are $250 short of last year in the Bakeless Bake Sale fund for scholarship and sending a girl to Badger Girl State. The group may have to eliminate one delegate if members don't donate.
The open house/picnic in August was well attended. The meeting was closed with a prayer for peace and the 50/50 was won by Eddy Lucht. Next meeting is Oct. 17th at 7 PM at the Legion Hall.
