Susan Ann (Luedeman) Benzinger, 68, of Green Bay, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, Sept. 30, 2018 with family by her side.
Born Aug. 16, 1950 in Oconto Falls, to the late Robert and Dorothy (Flick) Luedeman, she attended area schools, graduated from Gillett High School in 1968 and earned an Associates Degree from NWTC. She married Jack Benzinger on Feb. 4, 1977 in Marinette and they raised two sons. She worked as a claims representative for the Social Security Administration, retiring in 2008 after 37 years.
She loved spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren and their late family pet. She attended her grandsons' soccer games regularly and was an avid gardener and reader. She enjoyed annual Caribbean cruises, birdwatching and monthly luncheons with friends.
She is survived by her husband of over 41 years, Jack; two sons, Chad (Kelly) Benzinger of Lakeville, Mn. and Ryan (Melissa) Benzinger of Sturgeon Bay; five grandchildren; a sister, Beth (Tim) Christensen of Gillett; three sisters-in-law, Carol (Jerry) Byrd, Sandra (Perry) Ackeret and Colleen (Larry) Lasecke; three brothers-in-law, Gary (Lois) Benzinger, Phil Benzinger and Scott (Julie) Benzinger; five nieces; five nephews and other extended family and friends.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Philip Luedeman, her in-laws, Albert and Marge Benzinger and a sister-in-law, Wanda Benzinger.
Friends and relatives can call at St. John's Catholic Church, 127 Garden Avenue, Gillett on Saturday, Oct. 6 from 10 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at noon. Rev. Robert Ni Ni will officiate with interment to follow in St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Gillett.
