Wayne F. Louis, 80, of Menominee, Mi., passed away Friday, Oct. 12, 2018 at Atrium Post-Acute Care Center in Menominee, surrounded by family.
Born Oct. 20, 1937 in Gladstone, Mi., to the late Earl and Dagney (Alfield) Louis., he graduated from Gladstone High School on May 31, 1956 and served in the Army National Guard. He married the former Carol Rabitoy in Gladstone and worked for Giddings and Lewis for many years.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, bowling, playing cards, horseshoes and time outdoors camping, boating and water skiing. An avid Detroit Lions fan, he loved his dog, but mostly time with family. He was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church and the Menominee YMCA.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Carol of Menominee; four children, Terri Sue (Rick) Krause of Eau Claire, Kellie (Dale) Hartman and Gary (Sherri), both of Marinette and Mike (Becky) of Menominee; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren with one on the way; a brother, Warren Louis; a sister, Beverly (Kent) Morris; a sister-in-law, Gayla Louis and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Keith and Leland.
Family will receive friends at Emmanuel Lutheran Church on Wednesday, Oct. 17 from 2 p.m. until time of a funeral service at 4 p.m., with Rev. Mark Laatsch officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Anderson Kell Funeral Home of Menominee is assisting the family with arrangements. A memorial fund is being established for the Menominee YMCA and any expressions can be directed to Terri Krause.
