Mary P. (Goff) Gribbons, 66, of Davenport, Ia., passed away Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2018 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Ia.
Born Oct. 21, 1951 in Princeton, Mo., to James R. and Mary A. (Hamilton) Goff, she graduated from Clarke Community High School is Osceola, Ia. in 1970. She married Michael S. Gribbons on May 21, 1977 in Osceola.
She earned three Associates Degrees from Scott Community College and was licensed by the Foursquare Church in 1981. The couple pastored in the Foursquare churches in Osceola, Marinette, Wisconsin and LeClaire, Ia. for 40 years.
She also worked for many years as a legal secretary for various attorneys in Wisconsin and Iowa.
She will be remembered as "Miss Mary" by the many children of the Foursquare church in LeClaire over the years.
Survivors include her husband, Michael; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lea and Cliff Welsh of Bethany, Mo., Lorene and Jeff Tenney of Vinton, Ia. and Sara and Eddie Koenig of south Missouri; a brother and sister-in-law, Andy and Linda Goff of Ankeny, Ia. and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents , she was preceded in death by her step-father, George B. Flint and a daughter, Allison on April 3, 2018.
Visitation was held at McGinnis Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf on Saturday, Oct. 13 from 10 a.m. until time of the funeral service at noon. Burial followed at Glendale Cemetery in LeClaire, Ia. Memorials can be made to the family.
