Evelyn S. VanHese, 92, of Menominee, Mi., passed away Monday, Oct. 22, 2018 at her daughter's home, Mary (Diane), where she lived the past three years.
Born Aug. 7, 1926 in Marinette, to the late William and Clara (Williams) Ruleford, she married Peter VanHese on May 27, 1944 in Norway, Mi. She worked as an aide at the former Lloyd Hospital in Menominee and Bay Area Medical Center, retiring in 1986 as a Central Service Technician.
She enjoyed bowling, bingo, wintering in Arizona and was a member of Resurrection Catholic Church and the VFW auxiliary.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary (Diane) VanHese and Claire (Al) Turner, both of Menominee; two sons, Joe (Susan) of Minnesota and William (Maxine) of Stephenson, Mi.; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; a sister, Linda (Ben) Stutleen and a brother, Theodore (Donna) Ruleford.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Peter and eight brothers and sisters.
Visitation will take place at Anderson Kell Funeral Home in Menominee on Thursday, Oct. 25 from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at Resurrection Catholic Church. Fr. Brian Gerber will officiate with burial in Riverside Cemetery in Menominee.
